How do I get started with AtHome?

It’s easy to search for a self-employed carer with AtHome

1: Start by registering your email for an account Here, then when you are registered, fill out the job form specifying the type of care and support required or email us on hello@athomecaregroup.co.uk with the details of the care you need. If you want to chat it over first, you can call us on 01275 402240 - we are humans!

2: AtHome will then match these requirements to the carers available based on the information you have provided.

3: Matched carers will then be presented as profiles along with videos and information on previous experience. The client can then work with family members to view the information and choose who you would like to contact further. Many carers will travel, so don’t be put off by a carer’s location if you need long-term or live-in care.

4: Once you have chosen a carer(s) and agreed to your requirements, the Client and Carer agreement is created to ensure all parties have a clear understanding of the care agreement such as wages, notice period, breaks, rota, holiday pay etc.

5: Once care agreements have been signed, we will invoice you to secure the care so it can be booked with the carer - this invoice will be the AtHome care group fee (15-20% depending on the type and duration of the care you have booked). Once your booking invoice has been paid and the care agreement has been signed , care can begin, it’s that simple!

We ask that carers and clients download the AtHome Care app on the app store so that hours can be rostered and managed easily ongoing.

6: Your carer will invoice you weekly after care delivery, and you will pay them directly so you are sure what you carer is being paid. All hours of engagement are clearly recorded by both carer and the client and all changes will be advised to AtHome.

7: We can then repeat the process with other carers or the same carers ongoing so you are able to manage the care you need regardless of carer's absence, holidays or sickness.

8: We encourage our clients and carers to communicate regularly, and to check in the hours on the AtHome Care App which you can download from the app store

  • It is FREE to register with AtHome. We do not charge the client to register or view carers, you only pay for care when you book care. We are striving to make care more affordable, personalised and to give people needing care and their families control over how and where they source care. In addition, we want to keep the cost of supplying care as cost effective as we can.

  • It is FREE to register with AtHome. We do not charge carers or companions to register or use our service. We are striving to make it easier for clients and carers to work together.

  • Many care agencies charge up to 60% of the cost of the care as a fee.

    We believe we can do better.

    Our fees are the lowest in the sector at 15% for a long term booking, eg live in care, or 20% for a short term booking ie daily or hourly care.

    For short term care bookings there is a £100+ applicable taxes one off set up fee, for longterm care there is no set up fee.

  • We want to help everyone benefit from direct care soursing to reduce their care costs. Unfortunatly we cannot run this servcie for ree, as we must fund our innovative software, phone lines, insurance, carer insurance, marketing and salaries to name just a few.

    We have streamlined as much as possible to reduce the fees we charge, and we will continue to do so. We believe our low fee is very competitive, enabling clients to find care directly 24/7. We believe we offer the best possible solution for engaging self-employed carers and companions.

  • Our carers love us as we treat them which honesty and respect - just ask one! We offer self-employed carers and companions the opportunity to register completely for free with us. We don't take any of their wages like most other agenices and online platforms and we don’t discourage them from registering with any other agency. Why? Because we believe they will get the best experience with AtHome working directly with the client. Our competitive fees allows both carers and clients to negotiate fair rates for both parties. The money saved in agency fees with AtHome can be used to pay the carers more, employ more care and create a better all round experience.
